Personal Taste

No???

Seriously.. it's a Lee Min Ho's drama. Do you really need other reason to watch this? Still thinking? Check out the trailer :D

Drama synopsis credit to KoreanDrama.org :
Jeon Jin Ho (Lee Min Ho) is a straight guy who pretends to be gay in order to become a roommate to his female friend, Park Kae In (Son Yeh Jin). His hobbies include organization and ironing, and he’s known for his stoic poker face. He’s a stickler for cleanliness, but he also has a talent for figuring out women’s feelings. Kae In is very trusting even though she has a habit of being betrayed. However that doesn’t stop her from giving people the benefit of doubt and Jin Ho is no different. How will Kae In react when she finds out that her gay roommate is not actually gay at all and that he has fallen for her?

From Rae:
Ok.. they were nemesis at the beginning but *ehem* FATE brought them together. Rina and Redge dear... I clearly knew that both of you want Jiho as your house-mate *wink-wink*.

By the way, if you do not mind spoilers or just perhaps you love reading more than watching this, you probably want to read recaps at DramaBeans on Personal Taste here.

Pasta

A blogger friend, Redge recommended Pasta some time ago. She's an almost-all-Jdorama girl turned into the ONE whose suggesting kdrama to watch *atta girl* \(^o^)/

This drama was about a woman who aspired to be a chef. To be precised, she was inspired by her love towards pasta and some loving memories of her late mother. Gong Hyo Jin (as Seo Yoo Kyung) was the chef wannabe also had a hate-and-love relationship with her head chef, Lee Sun Gyun (as Choi Hyun Wook). Later as feeling evolved, coping with work professionally at the kitchen was one of the hurdle that they had to cope.

Personal afterthought:
The first half was very entertaining. VERY. It's getting slow at the middle but pick up the pace back again. The cold war moment and misunderstanding between the Italian team and the Korean team was quite a draggy but luckily they ended it nicely. The owh-must-have-entanglement between the main lines was nicely, sweetly and lightly sort off without making it such a drama. It's a perfect drama to enjoy the morning sun (urghhh... what am I saying) and surely made your tummy rumbly just looking at the food(a little bit of Pooh the bear 's love ^^).

Although I didn't fancied Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Sun Gyun was enough to make me hooked to this drama. I love everything about this man; his gesture, his facial expression, his voice... man was he one superb actor. He's definitely the man of this show.

cold war between
Italian Team (above)
vs
Korean Team (below)

ahh.. I almost forgot to mention about Noh Min Woo as Philip (the Italian team). He is so pretty and even made this ahjumma jealous of him *green eye*. Even my mom said he was too pretty even for a lady when she saw him in The Star Golden Bell Challenge at KBS World recently.
The beautiful Noh Min Woo ^^

As closing, I finally found my connection of the short memory of mine. I am indeed a goldfish... well atleast my memory span is. Lucky though I did not have the memory of the elephant :)

Queen Seon Duk @ ep 32

I tried to search for recaps on this series but I hardly found any. I tempted to have a sneak peek at the latest episode to get myself some "future" insight on how well my favourite Bidam will be but my sunbae said it would be less the fun later. Yup, she probably is right. The calling for a spoiler gets to me after getting myself spoiled with some hints here and there on how sad Bidam is... thus, I made a pledge [ ooo... very sound like a hwarang!] to stick with this main route of episode after episode! ^^

Now then, let me ramble a bit^^.

Earlier, I almost abandon this drama when I thought that I could not endure the evil Mishil/ Seju (by Ko Hyeon Jeong). I did stop for some time... for a few days, then I pushed myself to watch it. Amazingly now, Mishil is one of those fabulous villain and I love to have her on my screen.

Along with the evil queen want-to-be, I fell in love at first sight with Mishil's abandoned son, Bidam (by Kim Nam Gil). Bidam have the blood of royals and great leaders. Thanks to his parentage's DNA and being trained under the greatest *cough* Gukseon, he's one great fighter as well. So what if he have the calling to the darker side? It's the angst inside him that made him resistible! That's why I love Anakin Skywalker as well ^^.

Alcheon (by Lee Seung Hyo), I have different view of him now than the earlier him ^^. I love him for his discernment and then able to stand on his ground steadfastly. Later, after his favourite princess die, he appeared to be the prettiest hwarang of them all with that ready-to-die makeup on his face. Yup, Rae envied his lips! Dang!! lol~~~

Moving on to the Queen soon-to-be, Deokman (Lee Yo Won)... personally I think that she's just like a second Mishil. Both of them are fighting for the throne and Seju only lacked royal blood to do so. That's why Seju's afraid of the people. Both had eye for the throne triggered by revenge (Deokman's was due to the death of her sister and Seju's for the lost of her true love).

As for Deokman's first love, Yukshin-rang (by Eom Tae Woong).... he's a naively good.. GOOD hwarang who lacked sense of direction, sensitivity and skills. I totally understand why Deokman left him out from her earlier plan to conquer the world Shilla. In other words, he just didn't get my vote. He's in this post because he was supposed to be one of the main character :(

Hwang Jin Yi will be BACK on KBS World

Can you understand my excitement? It's Hwang Jin Yi (2006). This is one of my all time favourite sageuk drama that pulled me into this k-drama world of excitement^^.

It's about a Joseon era dancer, musician and poet, called Hwang Jin Yi (by Ha Ji Won) on the story of her life. For detailed synopsis aka spoilers, [read here]. For those worries, this is not a mere girly type of story since my husband loves this too. Years back, we would run back home to watch this on television ^^.

Add Image

This is also where I "met and fell in love" with Jang Geun Suk who was Hwang Jin Yi's first love, Kim Eun Ho *wink* ( I sounded like I am trying looking for excuses to talk about Geun Suk ^^). I remember thinking, such a beautiful manly voice from such a young face. ^^

Do watch this for its exquisite work of art, beautiful scenery, stories and beautiful roles. This drama will be re-aired on KBS World starting 23rd December 2009.

Three Brothers

Synopsis (credit to koreandrama):

Kim Sun Kyung is a retired police officer and father of three sons, Gun Kang, Hyun Chal and Yi Sang.

His eldest son Gun Kang made many wrong decisions in life, ending up being divorced and going bankrupt. Gun Kang gets remarried to Chung Nan. His second son Hyun Chal is the envy of the town and pride of his father. He runs a number of businesses which are quite successful. His wife Woo Mi often sacrificed her happiness for the benefit of the Kim family. As for the last son Yi Sang, he follows in his father’s footsteps by becoming a police officer. Oftentimes the father and the son clash each other. As Yi Sang married Eo Young, the daughter of his father’s deadly foe, an ex-convict Sun Kyung traced and eventually arrested a long time ago.

“Three brothers” revolves around their relations full of conflicts and love.

**********************************************************

Now, don't we think that the story plot couldn't be much different from the previous drama with the same time-slot? The story goes around a family with sons but instead going for four sons, they reduced the number to three.

This drama could be interesting to me in a way that I could hardly remember any of these faces from any of their previous drama. Will be looking forward this Saturday evening on KBS World!

Malaysia: 1840 hour at ASTRO channel 303 (Saturday & Sunday)

My Fair Lady

A drama stared by Yoon Eun Hye (as Kang HyeNa-the rich successor), Jeong Il Wu (as TaeKyung - or I called him the lawyer) & Yoon Sang Hyeon (as Seo Dong Chan - the butler).

This drama started well with interesting plot when Dong Chan had his fight with the spoilt princess, Hyena. It still went well when Dong Chan worked as her butler, trying to fixed her on her demanding behaviour and help her on her love interest towards TaeKyung the lawyer and later fall fell in love with his master.

Then it dragged... I fell asleep on the sofa watching this drama on a few of its episode. Not even Jung Il Woo can keep me wide awake. I felt like story goes on a roller coaster. When you think they are going somewhere... they're back to the start. Grandpa chairman character is just too mean. I just don't get the story. Every one is like pulling and letting the rope goes. I don't find anything wrong with Yoon EunHye's acting. She did well as a bossy lady but the story just lost its sparks. Perhaps the story would be better if HyeNa just stays as the mean lady! Don't fixed her..just let her be! Everyone in the drama was great actually. I just hope I can manage to handle its blunt story towards the ending!

IRIS next week on KBS World! Yipee!!!!

My Too Perfect Sons

or as my friend, Masni called them "The Ping Pong's Family"

It's a saviour drama for the week when KBS World filled with tremendously dull dramas when at a point, Iron Empress bored me, My Fair Lady sent me to sleep, Home Town Legend is just..(urrgghhh.. I don't like scary story.. no~no~no~), while Jolly Widows goes at a typical daily drama's pace which last forever.

This was the latest current drama on KBS World that I'll wait for the re-run on every Friday night, even though I watched the previous episodes.

Of course, my favourite pair of them all is Son DaePung (Lee Pil Mo) -the second son & Kim Bosil/ Jennifer (Yeo Seon). The annoying character is the best of them all and that why I love him. It took several episodes just to wait for DaePung to confess his love but he's just too adorable for me to feel dragged by him. *giggle*

And thus... it ended. A new drama is coming up this Saturday with another story about brothers. Let's just hope it will be another drama that will cheer us up on our weekends.

Smile, You @ episode 3

Another romantic comedy drama on the way adding my piling list of "ongoing watch' kdramas. At episode 3, the drama was quite enjoyable. Yes, QUITE is the right word for now. It did not turned me to gaga-mode like You're Beautiful did. At least I had something to enjoy during the weekdays while waiting for thy truly coming back home from work late at night.

  • Description as taken from KoreanDrama:

Seo Jung In (Lee Min Jeong) is the second daughter of a chaebol family, whose family suddenly meets financial ruin. She is dumped by her husband, Lee Han Se, after their wedding ceremony when his family finds out about her family’s financial problems. Her family is then forced to move in with their longtime chauffeur’s family. The once rich and spoiled daughter and her family must now learn how to adjust to life as commoners in the Kang household.

**************************************
While getting to know this drama, I somehow thought of a manga I read (I forgot the title, it's been a while) which the story line somehow resembled each other. In other words; a once rich family that went bankrupt, had to go tru a normal life, somehow ended with the ex-chauffeur's family, descendants fell in love on each other... and so on. The manga however had a sweeter version since there were memories between each of the hero + heroin along with more funnier side to how they get along when they grew up later (I'm hopeless towards manga so I should stop talking now...*sigh*).

As for Smile, You ...the grandpa/ex-chauffeur is a very frugal man that they're moments I pitied the mother/his daughter-in-law.

Lee Min Jeong did a good job as the annoying-spoiled rich girl along with a lovable side.

I however had problem with all the actors lined up. Is it just me or did all the boys in the drama is skinny? I don't really realised that until the scene where HyunSoo (by Jung KyungHo) was in his boxer, and am started thinking... such a skinny thigh. You just can't ignore that since he's in the boxer ya! I'm beginning to see characters' images from manga being brought to life = pretty faces with such a skinny figures.

Due to that, somehow...... at one point... I miss Lee MinHo *sigh*.

You're Beautiful

Now, we can sure be excited to this upcoming drama. I can totally handle this *giggle*. It's a feast of the eyes for me along with Park Shin Hye (love her). Owh.. did I forgot to mention that my virtual darling Jang Geun Suk and the cute-pie HongKi from FT Island are in this drama as well? Hmm.. though the trailers looked fun and promising, I really hope it won't disappoint me and do be a next fever after Boys Over Flowers *cross finger*. But SBS's production so far are quite good.

Synopsis:
A story about the behind-the-scenes life of an idol group. Tae Kyung (JGS) and On Yu (HK) are in search of a new member for their idol group. However at the last minute, the member suffers an injury and his twin sister, Mi Nyu (PSH) , steps in to disguise as him.

Summer Scent & Serenade

I'm weak upon the urge. After episode 8, I seriously wanted to check epi 9 since I have to wait for three days to watch it on KBS. Luckily, the links to watch it streaming online were broken. urghhh...

To ease my uneasiness, I check on the OST instead.

Yup.. Serenade by Franz Schubert! Please forgive me if I offended those professional on the musical. I love listening to musical but I am not to the extend of knowing and using "proper terms". So basically, this post is very amateur indeed.

Listened to the musical a lot but thanks to Summer Scent, now I knew the title and the composer as well.

and yes.. you're listening to Serenade on my MIXPOD PLAYER *wink*. I found the lyrics to the song but I had the guilt to post it here in my blog. So... if you're interested in knowing/ learning the lyrics... [click here].

However, I'm quoting a favourite line of mine. Hmm.. wait, perhaps more than one line... *sigh*(aiseh...can't help it)

The rustle of slender leaf tips
whispers
in the moonlight
Do not fear the evil spying
of the betrayer, my dear.

Do you hear the nightingales call?

Ah, they beckon to you,

With the sweet sound of their singing
they beckon to you for me.

p/s: I'm digging more into this piece. Otooto mentioned that I shouldn't just listening to musical piece as it is. He's preaching, lecturing and basically telling me to understand composed music to get the real feeling. urghh... (~_~!) Since when that he grew up to tell me do things? ^^

p/s #2: the "standing on one's feet dancing" reminding me of Jandi and Jihu-sunbae*heart* of Boys Over Flower... *sigh ~ i'm hopeless*

Summer Scent

I need to let this out here. Just watched the 6th ep of Summer Scent at KBS. I went *walalalalalawwawa* in front of the TV. I even dropped the mineral bottle while doing my *walalalalalawwawa* and biting whatever my hand can reached on i.e pillow, piece of clothes, mineral bottle. Hubby was surprised by the noise of me screaming like a teenage girl - he's sleeping at the sofa. Even Little Eagle asked what's wrong with his mommy.

Now, perhaps I should warned to those who'll wait to watch the re-run on Saturday's morning... you might do not want to continue reading my rambling here since it contained tiny dose of SPOILERS. Sorry but I just can't help it. (^^!)

Yes.. I was a little bit dramatic, but the 6th ep was the reason to my such behaviour. I thought the confession will be coming up a little later. Not NOW.. aigoo... along with the yellow roses hanging from the ceiling. There's still 14 eps to go. What to expect next? The confession was too sudden! I could accept it if there's 10 eps more to go. Even Jungjae listened to the confession. What to expect from tomorrow, I wonder? They did not gave the "teaser" for tomorrow's episode as KBS usually did. But for the better I guess or I would have trouble sleeping tonight.

Other than that, I'm enjoying the drama along with the lovely OSTs. Very-very nice ^^.

p/s: I have 40% of urge to check it earlier online. SHould I??? Or I'll wait till the urge reach 70%. hahaha...

Hello God

Finally it ended re-aired tonight at KBS World. I'm not happy with the ending at all. Not even a tiny bit. Though the ending was known and well-predicted, but I endured it hoping it will turn around. Silly me.

urghh.. if only my PC is in good condition, I already had a sneak peek on the finale this morning. If only I knew the ending will be like this, I would be happy to watch Transformers 2. "Forrest Gump" Korean style or not, it suck. muahaha... yes, I am really not happy with the ending.

This hero named 하루 (Haru means Day) did not get connected to my inner feelings. Pretty face can lose its charm too! 하하하하!! Ironically, Japanese dorama Pride's Halu can be spelt the same way in Korean but both 하루 give different feelings to me.

Back to the drama, the doctor, DongJae (Lee Jong Hyuk) deserve better. I did not fancied Kim Ok Bin (EunHye) here neither in Over the Rainbow.

**listening to Jang Geun Suk's voice to ease down my anger. (*_*)

Painter of the Wind - personal short review

I love sageuk dramas and what could possibly better than adding some touches of art along (suddenly I miss Hwang JinYi *wink*). Anyway, I never thought this drama would be this good ^^. I read good reviews about the drama and after watching 4 episodes (to date), I felt guilty for not watching it soon enough. Plus, my favourite veteran actor is in it (Ahn Suk Hwan).

I really loved it how the Choona (king) have his own thoughts as well, not merely listened and followed what his ministers told him. The ways he handled things and making decission were awesome too. However, some secrets were revealed too soon I think. Such as who is Yoon Bok's biological father, but I am just at episode 4. Perhaps there's more under the sleeves ^^.

By the way, I do not know if you find this cliche but the words said by Kim Hong Do (Yoon Bok's destined partner I would say), someone told me that too. Someone who taught me to see beyond what can I see in a painting... someone whose his favourite subject is ants.. ^^

what you can see may not be something that can be seen

Ooh.. I almost forgot. The musics/ OSTs were superb. That's one thing that made me really love Korean dramas.

It's a wrap!

At last it ended. While watching this drama, my emotions were swirled up just like my laundry in the washing machine started from Macau's arc. Every thing tensed me up but nothing made me so ridiculously angry like when Yumi was around. I do not even want to post her photo here. I really-really wanted to strangle her. What with her playing the harp... of all things... a harp!!! Were the producers trying to make her look like a goddesses or angels? I dreamt of playing harp and that scene just like trigger my madness out! If I were WooBin, I would already sent my troops to capture her and send her away to a deserted island. Luckily WooBin sunbae did not share my madness ^^. Yumi fitted well in the Malay's proverb -- "menangguk di air yang keruh" means taking advantage of a bad situation. But then again, she did acted it well enough to make people hated her like so h***.

I shared my opinions with a friend how I really doubted on the way the production team will manage to wrap up all the 'climax' of the story and adding another 4 years gap into the finale. Well, I must agree now that it's wrapped up nicely.

My favourite part in the final episode is the pool-side scene. It's unexpected, it clean, it's logical, and I love every part of Junpyo regaining his memory back there. The script was nicely done...

"Say my name"

...owh... After being lacking some quality moments of Jandi and Junpyo... I had tears in my eyes. yay.... I know ^^. At the same time I am feeling sad for Jihu having him witnessing that. But how glad I am that b**** Yumi was around. hah!! Her expression.... want to slap her face right there. It would be nice if Miranda and Ginger was around and tortured Yumi like crazy. But I am satisfied with just these ^^.

As for the ending, I don't mind it ended openly like it was, without a real wedding of Junpyo and Jandi or even YiJung and Gaeul ... but a special edition showing either one would be nice ( I am more looking forward to Yijung & Gaeul's wedding while having Junpyo and Jandi attending it only ^^). While about my dear Jihu, I am happy enough if seeing him opening his grandpa clinic... no more attachment needed since HE"S MINE!!! hahahaha.... I can't sit at ease if there's more characther added into Jihu's world. That's only adding the pain. *giggle* Let Jihu stayed with WooBin sunbae.

By the way, I think Lee Min Ho looked hotter towards the ending. Very-very much ^^

oww.... that Gaeul and YiJung moments ^^. I love the Korean BBF's production team *kisses*

Hmm... the drama ended, so does this mean my ramble about this drama ended as well? Let see.... *smile*

All and all, it's a great drama... the OSTs rock even more. I love them all ^^

Love... xoxox

Right on the track. I have a huge-super HUGE smile on my face now. We knew the ending even before we start watching it, still we ramble about the drama like it's new. Huge spoiler huh? I am an old fan of it... it's not that HUGE, but I love this clip. For more, click [here..]

However, I still wants to strangle that Yumi-like! Hate her... hate her reasons... hate her bento.. hate her cuteness.... I hate her in all version (be it in the manga, a princess-like in MG, as Yumi in HYD or even in BBF). I HATE HER!!!!!

The Obsession Stage is now Official

“The most unfortunate encounters are like those with fish bones.
The longer the encounter, the more the fishy smell sticks with you.

The encounters to be most careful with are with an open bloom,
because while it’s open it brings cheers of joy, but as it wilts, it gets thrown away.

The most beautiful encounters are like those with handkerchiefs.
They wipe away your sweat when you are tired, and your tears when you are sad.”

I can't help but update this post and added a few touches aka frozen panels^^

Is it just me or JunPyo looked more vibrant and less curly now?

As for episode 22 & 23, my heart almost stop and then explode for JiHu. As I mentioned to my sunbae, my heart ache more for this version of Rui. GOSH! The producers' team shouldn't have tortured me like this. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, let me start my ramblings.

JunPyo (JP) and Jandi (JD)

At last!!!! some JP and JD moments.. but it's a little bit to late to cure my broken heart. My ticket printed with Jihu's name on it (^^!). However... the dating scene did put my mix emotion at ease a bit... Oh.. Junpyo, if only you fought earlier. Sad to see how JunPyo's torturing himself like that. GOSH.. end in a police station? Will Mdm Kang ever come to her sense ? and Mr. Kang wakes up really soon and add more drama? This version of Junpyo/Tsukasa's mom is the worst and evil of all.

JunPyo(JP) and JaeKyung(JK)

Now that JK gone.. I missed her. This is bad but I somehow wished that JK didn't object to her own wedding. Just like JD, I wished JP will do something! instead of asking around what he should do. He did not even dare to confess directly to JK how much he loves Jandi and he's just pretending to go out with JK just to use her. Or did I missed that part? I really pissed off with JP when he's asking Jandi to ask him to cancel the wedding! GOSH!!! Please... do know that I WAS a total Junpyo&Jandi supporter before the Macau's and Wedding's peak. As for JK herself... she's actually can be quite a partner for JP [*straight holding up my armour in case JP&JD's fan wants to shoot me] (^^!)

Jihu (JH) and Jandi (JD)

Earlier in the series, I am devoting my whole heart for JP and JD. Commentors also said earlier that this Rui version lacked something for viewers to love him more. I guess the producers save it for later since I even changed my route of direction TOTALLY to Jihu. Its heartbreaking to see Jihu tried so much and even attempts to confess his own feeling towards JD. The production team are playing with my emotions. Damn with the wedding photos! Damn with LOADS of JH and JD moments! Damn with the developed relationship deep friendship ... it's torturing! arghhhhhh.... and yet, I am drooling over their wedding photos.. *sob-sob* How I hated that water-sprinkler-show (ep 23- *third photo above*). It's a pretty sight but it spoilt that JH moment.

YiJung and Gaeul

A sweet thing to be added to the twisted story. I do hope they end well unlike in any version including the manga. Gaeul is his air... ahahaha.. I hope she is.

WooBin
At last he got his own scene without the rest of the gang. He's the root of their group. No WooBin means the cool group might blown away along with the wind. He got pretty much of cool lines too. Can anyone ever forget his commenting towards his own friends? [The self centered, The Casanova and The 4th Dimension].

Now... if I were Jandi... IF... and in a real life..

I'll pick Jihu straight on. He can be my honorable fire fighter cum hairdresser cum pancake chef cum horse rider cum biker any time ! o yeah ^^ Plus less painful to deal with crazy mother-in-law-to-be.

************************************************************
A personal note to Rin-Chan sunbae...
No, I haven't read that spoiler. After reading it, it tortured me more thinking how sad Jihu will be (guessing that the script will be spoken by Jihu).

"I could hear you. I stood watch at night in case I couldn't hear you.
Every night."

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (T_T)

p/s: dont worry, I don't mind spoilers. but please dear producers... stop hurting dear poor Jihu!!! *sob-sob*
************************************************************

The Car Scene

O yeah... the scenery is just right for this scene. Jeju Island... wish I could go there one day ^^

Jandi and Jihu

Gaeul and YiJung

... and the next line-up will make someone smile^^.
These are for you Unni, hope they're good enough. So hard to get a quality one lar....

WooBin... alone??? That is so not fair!!!

**note: i think JunPyo should ask WooBin to break his leg instead of his arm. Broken arm still can walk on aisle what!! *sigh*
